Modernization of the education is a trendy topic. Many government grants are pushing for a renovation of the education system: the old books are not enough anymore. In ground schools, the first change was the inclusion of digital blackboards: whatever the teacher or pupils write on it, is projected to the students’ laptop or tablet, allowing multiple customization and interaction. The blackboard can be use as a media player or touch screen… the saving on markers is just one advantage.
Real-time experience
In primary and secondary schools the students have also access to virtual learning environments (VLE), where they can enjoy multiple content and media files, improving the learning experience. These platforms can also be used by the teachers to evaluate the students through tests and online exams. Parents are also involved in this new era: the connection to the center is incredibly easier and faster: before they had to wait several months to receive any kind of feedback from the teachers or the center. Now, the feedback is instantaneous. Every time there is a evaluation or important communicate, parents receive an email or access the online site of the school to see the results of their kids.
Technology at universities
The modernization of educational centers has not stopped at primary and secondary schools. Universities have long ago modern university equipment in order to project presentations and PowerPoint files, avoiding the use of chalk-stones and other obsolete methods.
New technologies allow the digitalization of the content: lecturers can record their sessions and upload them on the Internet, where a university language assistant can translate the content and include subtitles to be used somewhere else.
There is also a new model of education: distance education. Once you have sign-up for a course, you can download the media content, sending the exercises and task to the teacher via mail, and receiving the grades online. This method is very useful on remote areas where the access to university is limited or poor regions where the building of a university school is not possible.
